PC 27-inch quad-core i5 Imac Photography Photomatix Speed Test Test vs old

Written by admin on July 31st, 2010

hahhahahahaahaha Oh, I crack up as people start Mac vs. PC wars “this is not just a test” complaints. This is not meant to be a fair test. many people this will just be the thinknig expansion, as what I did, and this shows the kind of performance increase, I could go from a fairly standard laptop on this Mac is not intended to make a fair comparison, nor am I comparing apples to apples. This is getting to people, to increase the type of benefits when they can simply very surprised about. is for photographers, this implies a rough idea of increasing the speed in this video I can control the speed of my new Mac than my old first 9GHz 3GB Laptop PC. my new computer is 27-inch 66GHz second iMac Intel Quad Core i5. Proof that I’m using RAW images is 7 to 14-bit HDR Photomatix merged in a photo to make uncompressed.

    If your into photography, I recommend the Spyder3elite from Datacolor. It will calibrated your monitor.

    Hey etsme what does that terminal command do?

  3. etsme says:

    @dombower
    do this every once in a while dom and your mac will maintain its speed. its a little bit like a virus scan on an old pc but takes 5 second instead of 5 hours lol

    1.Open Terminal, located in the Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities folder.
    2.At the Terminal prompt, type the following, exactly as written:

    sudo periodic daily weekly monthly

    3.Press Return.
    4.Type your Admin password when prompted, then press Return

    Give yourself a shake ….. your 4.2Ghz pc is going to process faster than a 2.67ghz Intel Core i5 quad core (10.68Ghz) MAC.
    REALITY CHECK !!!!
    Hope you enjoy your mac dom !! they are the only computer for rich media, and they look cool !!!

    This is not so much, Mac vs Pc, but shitty old CPU vs. new CPU lol

  11. Capesports4 says:

    @itchyundies your 4.2 GHz doesn’t help without enough RAM or multiple cores. “Faster is relative considering that 4.2 GHz was due to hyperthreading. Nice that it still works though.

    @dombower Welcome to the Mac world…. for photos it is like going from a kit lens to an L quality lens – if you were a Canon shooter…. I’m not familiar with the quality vs. kit lens denominations for Nikon.

    @aaguirre123 I don’t know why… all I know is that my iMac went from blistering fast next to my old PC to just fast and now that I have a new MacBookPro to travel with it looks slow. Don’t get me wrong…. I love the iMac 27in screen as the colours and resolution are amazing but I can do a similar comparison between the 18 month old iMac and brand new MacBookPro and get similar, though not the same, results Dom got.

  14. jbrecording says:

    Dom congrats on the new iMac.

  15. lorikzzz says:

    Mac FTW

  16. aaguirre123 says:

    @oceandrew how do you mean that it will get slower? why would it get slower?

  17. aaguirre123 says:

    @dombower thanks for responding. can you give me more reason why? i am trying to find to justify switching from windows 7 to imac. i have an i7 pc computer with windows 7. i am debating whether or not to switch before upgrading to photoshop cs5. thanks again for responding.

  20. dombower says:

    @oceandrew its not meant to be a just comparison, it is a look at new vs old

  21. dombower says:

    @tsss041128 4 gigs and imovie

  22. dombower says:

    @aaguirre123 the massive screen, the massive resolution, the fact my pc crashed every day and made me swear a lot !

  23. dombower says:

    @MegaWaxz i am more interested in the ability of things than the technicalities of computer

  24. dombower says:

    @mjordanares23 thats the point!

  25. aaguirre123 says:
