If you’re like most Americans

households, household watches television for more than 8 hours a day. If you live alone it is estimated that you can watch 4 1 / 2 hours of TV a day. Yes, Americans love our TV and studies show that it does not slow down soon. So what happens to my old TV and it still works after 17/02/2009?
Do you have an analog TV, and what happens after 02/17/2009?
on the day of analog television is going to end, it is 17/02/2009. This is the day when the FCC mandated as part of the Stop Sending television stations broadcast analog signals wirelessly. What does this mean for me, which was the same old analog sets for the past 10 years? Or the number 2 or 3 analog TV the rest of the house. You can be the first I want to ask yourself – What is analog television? And I have one? If you still do not get the TV rabbit ears, you have an analog. If you use cable or satellite, and the so-called 4:03 (square-shaped TV), most likely you have an analog TV. The only way to tell if your TV is analog, is to look and see if the TV is hook up an external antenna?
OK? “I have an analog TV, what do I do?
First I would suggest you,” Sanford and Son “of man pick it up or 2 you can keep your clunker to use a digital set-top box converter. The FCC offers coupons for all Americans (limit 2 per household) to buy a new digital converter. This is a message to the FCC requirement for how much so you can keep your old analog TV operation after 17/02/09.

Analog TVs have these accessories to get over-the-air television when the DTV Transition end

Consumers rely on the WHO antennas ( including outside antennas and “rabbit ears”) to receive over-channel signals to television sets is imposed only an analog tuner must obtain separate digital-to-analog converter set-top boxes is to control-the-air TV. These boxes receive digital signals and convert them into analog format display on analog TVs. Analog set connected to why I am pleased with converters, LED displays, but not necessarily the entire, original digital quality.

Converter software meetings

With effect from 1 january 2008 and March 31, 2009, all U.S. households can request up to two coupons, each valued at a cover up to two, digital-converters. National Telecommunications and Administration (NTIA) is responsible for managing the program coupon. More information can be found at http : / / www.DTV2009.gov .

So what do I do? Buy a new HDTV or keep my old analog TV?

It all depends on the budget. If you can afford a new digital TV next week , then read the article “What is digital TV to buy before the 2-17-2009. “I definitely do not recommend the budget for the new HDTV before 17/02/2009, if you do not, it is the best entertainment investment you will ever make.
About Dean Scheu
