Sometimes we take pictures and when we write them down, we just say, “Wow, it almost could be a painting!” Many people do not know that the program contains techniques you can use to change your image and paint a watercolor or pen or charcoal drawings. When you change your image so you can print on canvas or fine art watercolor paper that feels true art and eternal.

Today the methods of digital photography is to bridge the gap between “art photography” and simply “art.” In the past it could take a picture of days, weeks and months to create paintings or water color, now this can be done in digital for a few hours. Great thing is that some techniques can be used on the same image. It all depends on how you want to “explain” your artwork.

Photoshop Elements has many great tools that filter just a little time and experimentation to figure out how to use them to enhance your image. Add a “noise” at or “Gaussian Blur” for your image can do wonders to transform normal image to a work of art.

As you become familiar with many tools, filters, you will soon discover that you will want to use the tools given to different parts of the image. A simple way to do this is to choose an image area you want to use an effect and “cut” from the image and copy it to a new folder. When you do this, you can work with each part of the image independently. When you have completed the effects for the part you want to cut out, just copy it back to the original image and move it to the right place. It means “click” into place when you line it up to where it needs to be.
